(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - One of the busiest non-expressway bridges in the south suburbs is not going to be much of a pleasant place to drive for the next year and a half.
From now until the fall of next year, work will be taking place on LaGrange Road from just north of the Tri-State to just south of the Stevenson Expressway.
At first IDOT says LaGrange will be reduced from three lanes to two in each direction so temporary pavement patching can be done. And then, starting later in the month, the plan is to have all traffic moved to the current southbound lanes so that work of rebuilding the bridge deck, new lighting and pier repairs can be done.
IDOT says plan for delays or find alternate routes.
