Feeding the hungry is only one goal of a new volunteer garden at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva.

Nearly 600 square-feet of land at the Kane County Government Center has been set aside for the garden, which will be tended by volunteer county employees.

Matt Tansley is a planner with Kane County Development and Community Services. He says the garden is a way for county workers to interact with a fun activity while helping others.

"The plan is to donate any produce that's grown at this garden to area food pantries. So it's a win win for everyone involved," Tansley said.

Tansley hopes some Kane County residents will help the garden with donations of needed supplies.

You can find a list of those items as well as more information about the garden at KaneCountyConnects.com.
