CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — White Sox fans will get the chance to celebrate their playoff-bound team at a pep rally at Guaranteed Rate Field Monday afternoon.
The last time the White Sox held a playoff rally was in 1983 when Tony La Russa was the manager and fans gathered in Daley Plaza. Designated hitter and Chicago native Greg Luzinski led the cheers back then.
This time around, the celebration, which the team calls the “Change the Game” playoff rally, will be at Guaranteed Rate Field, located at 35th and Shields streets.
It will be in the Gate 5 plaza and parking lot B, which is the lot just north of the stadium near the restaurant in the Chicago Sports Depot sporting goods store.
The team said free tickets to the rally are already gone, but a limited number could be made available later Monday.
The White Sox is hosting games three and four of the American League Division Series next Sunday and Monday. The cheapest tickets are going for $170 on the secondary market.
