Las Vegas rockers The Killers have gifted fans a new, unnamed single as a holiday present, holding us over with a taste of the synthy new-wave album that the band decided to shelve earlier this year.

Though The Killers put a hold on releasing their synth-inspired new album in place of a 'Best of' release in 2023, that certainly doesn't mean the tracks fans coulda-shoulda received have been tossed aside. As a Christmas gift, the band dropped a 4-minute, unnamed track showing off a little more of their darker side.
Along with the new track, The Killers captioned their Christmas gift saying, "Santa’s got a brand new song in his bag. Merry Christmas!" Listen to the song below.
In celebration of 20 years together The Killers released their 2023 greatest hits album, Rebel Diamonds, at the beginning of December, featuring 20 fan favorites as well as the brand new single, “Spirit.” In a recent interview, frontman Brandon Flowers explained that the band decided to put a hold on their planned new album over authenticity issues, saying their synthy new sound (a la New Order and Depeche Mode) “just didn’t feel right” at this time. It looks like 2024 is sounding a heck of a lot better, we hope.
