KARAN KATYAL: 'I thought being gay meant being trans and I knew I didn't want to be a woman'

Karan Katyal spent his adolescent years struggling to understand who he was and how to identify himself. Growing up in a conservative family and community in New Jersey, Karan was far from learning about sexuality and the LGBTQ community. He always felt ‘different’ but didn’t know why, and didn't learn what was "different" about him until later in life. Not revealing his true self until the age of 22, Karan grappled with how his loved ones would take the news. Listen to Karan’s coming out story and how he was finally able to embrace his true self.
