2 men fatally struck by cars in Bronx, Queens within an hour

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two men were fatally struck by cars within about an hour in the Bronx and Queens, police said Sunday.

Domingo Dejesus, 64, was crossing Lafayette and Soundview avenues in Soundview around 10:45 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2012 Chevy Impala.

EMS rushed Dejesus with severe head trauma to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he died.

The 63-year-old driver who struck the victim while driving north on Soundview Avenue remained at the scene and faced no initial charges, police said.

Then in Queens, a 48-year-old man was crossing Broadway at 76th Street in Jackson Heights when he fell and was run over by a 2023 BMW heading south around 11:50 p.m.

The victim died at the scene and has yet to be identified.

The 39-year-old driver remained at the scene and also faced no immediate charges.
