The MTA employees, 52-year-old Gentry Pugh and 30-year-old Shamecca Heywood, allegedly got into a fight with an NYPD officer after a gun was spotted in their vehicle, the Daily News reported.
A cop approached their vehicle around 10 a.m. as the two were parked outside of a Whole Foods on N. 3rd Street and Bedford Avenue in Greenpoint.
After initially questioning the pair about a recent assault in the area, the cop noticed a handgun in the car, authorities told the Daily News.
Pugh refused the officer’s orders to get out of the car and resisted arrest while Heywood defended him, punching and shoving another cop who came to help.
The two were both arrested after a brief struggle
Pugh was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment, authorities said.
Heywood was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing government administration.
