NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police released images Friday of seven suspects wanted for stabbing and beating a man in a suspected anti-gay hate crime on a Hell's Kitchen street this week.
New photos and video from the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force show the suspects near the attack scene on Wednesday night.
The 44-year-old victim was at 44th Street and 10th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when he was surrounded by a group of seven males—believed to be in their teens or 20s—who made homophobic remarks to him, police said.

The group then punched and kicked him "numerous times," according to police.
During the attack, someone in the group also stabbed him in the left thigh with an unknown weapon.
The victim was transported to Mount Sinai West in stable condition.
The suspects fled eastbound on 44th Street and then southbound on Ninth Avenue, police said.

"As a member of the community, this is so upsetting," Councilmember Erik Bottcher told 1010 WINS on Thursday.
"We've come so far as an LGBTQ community," Bottcher said. "In the last 20 years, we've come a long way legislatively and in terms of acceptance in many ways. But in recent years, there's been backsliding."
