NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An attacker slapped a woman in the face and hurled anti-Black insults at her on a Brooklyn street last week, police said Friday as they released an image of a suspect.

The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating last Thursday's unprovoked assault in Midwood as an anti-Black hate crime.

The 50-year-old victim was at Kings Highway and Avenue O around 6 p.m. when the attacker went on a racist diatribe and hit her in the face, police said.

The severity of her injuries was unclear. Police said she didn't require hospitalization.

The suspect was last seen fleeing eastbound towards Kings Highway, according to police.
