Boy, 15, injured in Bronx shooting, cops fired at suspected gunman

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police shot at and missed a suspect in the shooting of a 15-year-old boy who was hit in the chest at a Bronx park Friday night, according to the NYPD.

Officers responding to the shooting around 11:10 p.m. came across two teenagers on a scooter in Claremont Park, one of whom was allegedly holding a gun.

An officer fired at the duo, but didn’t hit anyone.

Emergency responders brought the teenager with the gunshot wound to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police managed to arrest a 19-year-old man as a suspect. The other suspect got away on the scooter.
