NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 9-year-old boy died Sunday after he fell from a window at his family's apartment in the Bronx, police said Monday.

Police responded to calls shortly before 4:15 p.m. of an unresponsive boy suffering from fall-related injuries outside of 240 Mount Hope Pl. in the Mount Hope section.

NYPD officers rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he did not survive.

He's been identified as Miguel Ramos, who lived at the six-story building.

Investigators believe he fell from a fourth-floor window with an air-conditioning unit. They suspect he climbed onto the air conditioner, managed to craw out of the window and fell to the ground.

A relative told WABC that the boy had autism and was nonverbal.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and the medical examiner will determine his cause of death.
