NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An e-biker survived a rear-end crash near his Brooklyn home, only to die nearly a week later after his condition deteriorated, police said Monday.
Apolonio Aguirre, 45, was riding an e-bike when he struck the 2018 Ford SUV stopped at the light on McDonald Avenue at Webster Avenue in Kensington just before 10:15 p.m. on April 16.
Aguirre, who lived on the block where he crashed, was initially listed in stable condition, but his condition deteriorated, police said.
He died at Maimonides Medical Center on Saturday from severe head injuries.
The 38-year-old SUV driver was not charged.
An investigation is ongoing.
