LISTEN TO 1010 WINS

The officer had pulled over the 40-year-old man’s gray Ford van on Clinton Avenue, near E. 181st Street, in the East Tremont section shortly after 8:15 a.m.

As the officer approached the van, the driver pulled a gun and sped away with the cop hanging onto the side of the vehicle, police said.

The officer was eventually thrown to the street. He suffered pain to his leg, arm and shoulder but was conscious at a hospital and expected to recover.

The driver fled and was still being sought by the NYPD, who haven’t said who they're searching for.
