NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 53-year-old FDNY lieutenant was found dead at his Staten Island firehouse on Sunday morning, police said.

Lt. Joseph Maiello was discovered at Engine 163 and Ladder 83 in Westerleigh at 875 Jewett Ave. and was eventually pronounced deceased.
Cops confirmed they received a 911 call at 7:28 a.m. to the report of an unconscious and unresponsive individual found.
His death does not appear to be suspicious, but the city's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause.
"The department is saddened by the loss, and we’re here to support the officer's family at this time," an FDNY spokesman said.
