NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in the head outside a Staten Island home on Thursday night, police said.
The victim, who cops haven't identified, was shot shortly just after 10:45 p.m. outside 102 Wright St. in Stapleton.
NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found him unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported by EMS to Richmond University Medical Center but did not survive his injuries.
Sources told the Staten Island Advance that witnesses saw a group of males running in the area around the time of the shooting.
Investigators worked through a balmy overnight combing for evidence.
At the scene, detectives reportedly recovered a .380-caliber gun, as well as 9mm shell casings apparently fired from a second gun.
No arrests were reported as of Friday.
