
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was struck and killed by a car as he walked across the busy Grand Central Parkway in Queens on Sunday night, police said Monday.

The unidentified man was run over as he crossed the eastbound lanes of the parkway on foot shortly before 10:50 p.m.
A Toyota Camry struck the man in the middle lane, near Exit 10E to the Long Island Expressway, not far from Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, police said.
The 57-year-old driver of the Toyota remained at the scene, according to police.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. His body was seen covered with a white sheet.
It's unclear why the man was walking on the highway.
An investigation by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
