NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man grabbed a 14-year-old girl by the neck and ripped a necklace off her in a brazen daytime robbery this week near Manhattan College in the Bronx, police said as Tuesday as they released images of the suspect.

The girl was outside a Starbucks on Waldo Avenue, just south of Manhattan College Parkway, in Riverdale around 3:40 p.m. Sunday when her attacker approached from behind.

The thief grabbed her neck and mouth as he yanked a gold chain off her neck, police said.

Surveillance footage shows him riding in the area on a scooter around the time of the attack.

The teen suffered minor injuries to her neck and refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
