Man's leg broken after would-be thief shoves him onto Brooklyn subway tracks: police

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A man's leg was broken when he was shoved onto subway tracks during an attempted robbery at a Brooklyn station, police said Monday as they searched for a suspect.

The 52-year-old victim was on a platform at the Bushwick Avenue–Aberdeen Street station in Bushwick at 4:15 a.m. last Friday when he was approached by another man, who demanded his property, police said.

The victim resisted and a struggle ensued on the platform, according to police.

During the scuffle, the would-be thief shoved the victim onto the tracks, police said.

The victim suffered a laceration to his head and a fractured leg. He was removed from the tracks by EMS and transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the station after the attack, police said. The NYPD released images of him on Monday.
