NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is on the hunt for a suspect who has been on a Brooklyn burglary spree since late December, stealing more than $30,000 in cash.
There have been eight incidents known to police since Dec. 20, predominantly at restaurants and bars in Williamsburg, with five of them resulting in a favorable end for the suspect, police said Monday as they released surveillance video of the perp.
In his latest burglary on Jan. 5, the suspect forced his way through the front door gate at 12 Chairs Cafe on Wythe Avenue around 2:40 a.m., stole nearly $10,000 from the safe, and fled the location to parts unknown.
He struck twice on Dec. 26 — stealing $2,000 from one spot — and three times on Dec. 30 — stealing $1,915 from one location.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
