NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD sergeant was arrested on Wednesday night after he allegedly attacked his wife in the Bronx.

Danilo Cruz, 40, was charged with assault at 7:50 p.m., police said Thursday.
Cruz was arrested in the 40th Precinct, which covers part of the South Bronx, including Mott Haven and Melrose. It’s unclear if that's where the alleged assault took place.
According to records, Cruz is a member of the Police Academy and has faced two abuse of authority allegations, all of which the Civilian Complaint Review Board exonerated.
