Matthew Cloth, who goes by the moniker “Matty Gz,” was taken into custody on Aug. 9 for a broad-daylight robbery of a victim at gunpoint who was buying a dirt bike in Eltingville.

Cloth, who amassed over 170,000 views on his YouTube video “Everybody K,” was caught on surveillance video etching his rap name onto the interior wall of the 123rd Precinct stationhouse holding cell with a coin around 9:40 p.m.

“I did it because I was bored,” Cloth is quoted saying in the complaint to police.

Days earlier, on Aug. 1, Cloth and an accomplice allegedly accepted a $2,000 cash payment for a dirt bike. Cloth supposedly took the backpack full of cash, placed it in the back of a 2021 Nissan Altima, hopped on the dirt bike in question and rode away, court documents show.

When the victim approached the Nissan to get his $2,000 back, Cloth’s alleged accomplice, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle, took out what looked like a gun, pointed it at the victim and drove away on Mosley Avenue, according to authorities. Cloth's accomplice is still at large.

Cloth is now facing graffiti charges on top of robbery, grand larceny, petit larceny, menacing and harassment. He is free on $25,001 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.
