NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A subway rider was slashed on a 5 train in Brooklyn this week, police said Wednesday as they released an image of the suspect.

The 46-year-old victim was riding a southbound train near the President Street–Medgar Evers College station in Crown Heights at 4:15 a.m. Sunday when another man got into some sort of dispute with him.

During the argument, the man brandished a sharp object and slashed the victim across the face with it, police said.

The victim was transported by private means to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled on a southbound 5 train, police said. He's believed to be between 18 and 21 years old.
