NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 16-year-old boy has turned himself into police for his role in choking and dragging a 25-year-old woman off a Brooklyn subway bench, police said Thursday.
The teen arrived with his mother at the 60th Precinct stationhouse in Coney Island on Wednesday, according to the Daily News, a day after police released images of the Sunday attack seeking him and his accomplices.
He's been charged with strangulation, a felony.
The victim was seated on a bench on southbound 2 platform at the Grand Army Plaza station in Park Slope around 12:45 a.m. when the young men surrounded her from behind and dragged her off the bench by her neck, police said.
EMS treated the victim at the scene, and she's expected to be okay.
The MMA-style chokehold appears to be part of a gang initiative, according to the report.
Police said Thursday that other suspects are still at large.
