NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police discovered a woman’s body on a Queens subway car on Saturday and are investigating her death.
Officers responded to a 911 call requesting help for a woman on a northbound F train at the Jamaica–179th Street subway station at about 1:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found an unidentified woman unconscious and unresponsive. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York will determine her cause of death. Officials said the death does not seem suspicious at this time.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
The discovery comes not even one week after Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that police officers will take up patrol aboard every overnight subway train in the city, a public safety initiative meant to quell fears about crime in the transit system.
