“The Atlanta Braves have just not been the defensive club that I think they’re capable of being," McAuley said. "Because if you look around the infield that they had a year ago, it was one of their strengths, not just offensively but defensively speaking. Matt Olson is a Gold Glove-type first baseman and he’s made errors in three consecutive games, first time in his career that he’s ever made errors in three straight games. So when it’s going bad sometimes it’s really gone bad.”

McAuley continued talking about the struggles of Olson.

“For Matt at the plate not getting the results he wants and the field we’ve seen a few lapses, and a couple of them have really contributed to some Braves losses," McAuley noted. "And yesterday I think you’re just probably fortunate that didn’t open up the flood gates for another big inning.”
