The Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers 29-21 on Sunday and moved to 6-7 on the season with the victory.

While 6-7 may not be a record to be overly proud, there is no doubt the Falcons are finding themselves in the midst of a playoff race for the NFC's final two spots.
There are seven playoff spots in each conference and right now the Falcons are among five teams who are tied at 6-7 for the final spot, although they are trailing a few of those teams due to tiebreakers.
Right now the Falcons are alongside Washington, Minnesota, Philadelphia, and New Orleans at 6-7 and the San Francisco Giants, who currently holds the 6 seed in the NFC s just one game ahead at 7-6.
With four games remaining, the Falcons still have some work to do. But they have a pretty good setup in terms of opponents to actually make the push required.

The Falcons travel to San Francisco in Week 15 (this coming Sunday), and a win there could vault them into a playoff spot.
With games against Detroit in Week 16 and New Orleans in Week 18, there are winnable games still to come and the Falcons could sneak right in with a strong finish to the season.
