Najee Harris wants you to know that he's NOT fat

If there is one thing that Najee Harris wants you to know about him, it's that he's not fat.

Social media blew up last week when the Steelers running back confirmed he weighed 244lbs.

It seemed like he had gained 12-pounds since last year because he is listed at 232lbs. on the Steelers website.

Speaking on Tuesday, Harris said he hasn't weighed 232 since college and that he played at 242 last year.

"But, if you guys didn't know, you're heavier in this then you are playing in the season.
So, I'm going to play at 242," said Harris.

He also joked about being compared to Steelers Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis (something no one did).

"I'm bigger than Jerome Bettis . . . no I was not," said Harris "Shout out Jerome because that's the homie, but you're making it seem like I'm fat as hell."

Harris blamed the media for the perception he was fat.

"Y'all get under my skin, I ain't gonna lie, that's why I like y'all," said Harris, "Not too many people can get under my skin . . . y'all have a tendency of doing that."

What the media meant, at least in our case, is that Harris, especially his thighs, are looking in incredible shape and that what was getting all of the attention.

Running backs coach Eddie Faulkner doesn't think Najee is fat. "What you see is a by-product of what he is into. He is going to overturn every stone he can to be in elite shape. That's just Najee. You see what it looks like. It's no lie, you can look at him & tell he's putting in that work."

Harris had 1,200 yards his rookie season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry with seven touchdowns. That was with struggling offensive line.

It was also hard for the Steelers to establish a run game last season, with the passing game struggling.
