Navigating the North Texas roadways can be chaotic (even during the best of times), but one Dallas suburb has been recognized as one of the best cities in the U.S. to drive in.

A study conducted by WalletHub named Plano the 8th best city in the nation to drive in, the only town in North Texas to make the top ten.

Other cities around the state were well represented though: Corpus Christi landed at No 1, Laredo at No. 5, Lubbock at No. 6, and Austin at No. 9.

According to CultureMap Dallas, Plano was commended for its safety for motorists, landing at 15th in the nation for driver and road safety.  The study analyzed factors such as traffic fatality rates per capita, the proportion of uninsured drivers, rate of car thefts and larceny, the strictness of DUI punishment, and others.

Dallas ranked as the 47th best city in the U.S. to drive in, up from its ranking last year of No. 60.  Fort Worth still beat Dallas easily however, coming in at No. 27.

Arlington came in at No. 18, Garland at No. 24, and Irving at No. 29.
