Reality television to politics seems to be a popular pathway these days, and former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is ready to throw her hat into the political ring.
Abraham recently announced her candidacy for mayor of the state’s capital Austin. However, in an interview with TMZ, she learned that the next mayoral race actually happens in 2028.
You would think someone serious about running would’ve known that little bit of information. But not one to wait around, Abraham withdrew her candidacy for mayor and instead announced her intention to run for a city council seat in Austin’s District 5.
Abraham told KXAN, “I reached out to the city and I just was like, ‘hey, I’m very serious about this … I love this city and I want to get involved in and help where I live and breathe, and I know I can help because I’m making it, others seem to be struggling, and I want to jump in the mix.'
“If I could be a district seat and I could be mayor at the same time, I probably would do it.”
Abraham moved to Austin in 2013. Her website currently describes her as a “life coach, a standup comedian and an OnlyFans model.”
When she was asked for her thoughts about the current District 5 council member’s performance, Abraham said she didn’t know who it was.
