Crews respond to early morning boat fire on Allegheny River

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Early Thursday morning, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to the Allegheny River for reports of a boat fire.

Crews arrived at the scene off of 100 Mazeroski Way just before 6:00 a.m. and found a houseboat on fire.

A River Rescue Crew member reported the fire when he was arriving for work.

River Rescue personnel used fire extinguishers to keep the flames under control until fire crews arrived.

No injuries were reported and the fire was extinguished in 30 minutes.

The Fire Investigation Unit is investigating and will determine the exact cause of the fire.
