LOS ANGELES (KNX) — An explosion in an underground electrical vault was reported in North Hollywood Thursday morning.
The explosion occurred at about 7:45 a.m. in the 6500 block of North Farmdale Avenue, right next to a 37-unit Farmdale Court apartment complex.
The force of the blast reportedly sent a manhole cover flying into the second floor of the building. Windows were also reported broken, though it was unknown if the shattering occurred due to the explosion itself, or the manhole cover.
Officials with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, L.A. Fire Department, and city building and safety crews were on the scene as of 8:30 a.m.
