LONG BEACH, Calif. (KNX) – A man was arrested for sexual battery against two minors in two separate incidents, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officials said James Earl Britt, was booked into Long Beach City Jail on two counts of annoying or molesting a child, two counts of sexual battery, and two counts of oral copulation, according to a press release.
The investigation began earlier this month when detectives with the Sex Crimes unit investigating a sexual assault incident in which a 16-year-old girl was coerced into a man’s 2005 Silver Volvo. The man also pushed her to perform sexual acts on him before dropping her off at a different location.
Britt was identified by detectives as the suspect in that case, as well as the suspect in a case that occurred in 2018 with a then 17-year-old.
Detectives said he was driving a different car for that incident.
Britt’s bail was set at $100,000. His case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives believe there could be more victims as he had access to other vehicles.
