A suspect is in custody Tuesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man near a restroom building on Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica.
Police responded to the 2000 block of the beach around 2:07 p.m. Monday regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and found the victim was a stab wound to the chest, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Officers administered CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived and to him to a hospital in an unknown condition, police said.
KABC reported the victim later died at the hospital.
