PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. (KNX) — One person died and three others were injured after falling down the side of a cliff in Palos Verdes Estates on Monday.

The call came into dispatch around 4:40 a.m., authorities said.

Los Angeles County fire crews responded to the area of Paseo Del Mar and Avon Road where two men and two women had fallen down the side of a cliff.

First responders declared one man dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the victim. Another person was reported to be in critical condition.

L.A. County Fire helicopters hoisted the pair to the top of the cliff. One victim was airlifted to a trauma center, and the other was rushed away in an ambulance.

It’s unclear how the two fell. However, investigtors told City News Service they do not believe a vehicle was involved.
