A 9-1-1 caller was shocked to find a body in Pleasant Grove Wednesday.
The caller directed Dallas police to a stretch of Pleasant Branch, a creek near Prairie Creek Road and Lake June Road.
The body was in the water but police don't know how it got there or how long it had been there.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office took possession of the remains to make an identification and to determine the cause of death.
Police have not said for sure a crime was committed but the case is being handled by homicide detectives.
