Wednesday marked Day Three of the increasingly-tense political chess game over election reform in Texas.
After meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, more than 50 Texas House Democrats remain in Washington, D.C. They continue to stress that they are willing to stay in the nation's capital until the current special session is over. President Joe Biden has expressed his support for the Democrats and their fight.
Meanwhile, Gov. Greg Abbott continues to demand the renegade Democrats return home and get back to work. Abbott said despite opposition claims that suggested reforms will make it more difficult to vote and dilute the power of minorities, the governor contends Texas Republicans will make it "easier to vote and harder to cheat."
Most experts agree Gov. Abbott has a big advantage in this fight, as he has the ability to keep calling special sessions until Jan. 2023.
