PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Students at one Philadelphia school will be learning virtually on Tuesday, while the rest of the district begins in-person classes.
Because of concerns over construction and environmental conditions inside the school, fifth through 12th grade students at the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber in Overbrook Park will have virtual classes for the rest of this week.
Starting next Wednesday, Sept. 8, grades five through eight will relocate to the former Powel School in West Philadelphia for the rest of the school year.
Grades nine through 12 will be in-person at SLA-Beeber.
Word of the changes came less than a day before classes were to begin.
