KYW Medical Report: Exercise tips during a wintry pandemic

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Working out in the winter is difficult every year, but during a pandemic, it can be far more challenging.

If you can afford a health club, there are still numerous challenges presented by omicron. So, what can you do?

Obviously, if you currently have exercise equipment serving as a coat rack at home, it is time to bring it out.

Can’t afford it? Take a trip around the internet — you will be surprised by the creative ways people are using common household items to make their own mini weights. Things like leftover water bottles and milk jugs are great tools.

Walking in place or a few resistance bands can also help.

The key is to do something. We will get through this, and it is important to take care of your body on a consistent basis.
