(SportsRadio 610) -- In more than one instance, Deshaun Watson borrowed massage tables from the Houston Texans for outside services.
For some of those massages, Watson met with women now accusing him of sexual assault or misconduct, according to their attorney Tony Buzbee.
Using the team's equipment away from the facility is not unusual. There was the popular story of former Texans center Nick Martin taking home weight room equipment at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic so he could work out from home.
But this would be different, if what Buzbee alleges is true.
Buzbee is saying Watson used team equipment, disguising it for legitimate purposes, in the course of committing a crime against the women accusing him of sexual assault.
The Texans have declined to comment further on the Watson matter, other than to reiterate their previous statement last month: they're taking the matter seriously and will cooperate with the NFL investigation.
In a letter to season ticket holders Monday, the Texans addressed the Watson allegations by saying they are deeply troubled and condemned sexual assault.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy after Tuesday's press conference also called the allegations "deeply disturbing" as the league investigation continues.
"We are continuing to closely monitor all developments in the matter," McCarthy's statement said.
Longtime NFL reporter Ed Werder said the he was told the league has been in contact with Buzbee.
The Houston Police Department is also investigating at least one complaint against Watson, the agency confirmed last week.
