(SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans have interviewed Seattle Seahawks vice president of player personnel Trent Kirchner for their general manager position, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kirchner has worked in Seattle's personnel department since 2010. He was part of the scouting departments to help build their Super Bowl winner in the 2014 season, and another Super Bowl appearance the following season.

Kirchner worked closely with Seahawks general manager John Schneider to help draft Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner, Richard Sherman and K.J. Wright, among others.

Kirchner began his scouting career with Washington as a scouting coordinator, then became a pro scout with the Carolina Panthers.

The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson first reported the Texans were interviewing Kirchner.

Late Monday, the Texans announced they interviewed Omar Khan, the Steelers vice president of football and business administration.

They have also interviewed ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Louis Riddick and their own director of player personnel Matt Bazirgan.

The Houston Chronicle reported the Texans plan to interview Bills director of pro personnel Malik Boyd, a Houston native and Smiley High School graduate.
