(SportsRadio 610) -- With the 147th overall pick, the Texans selected their third offensive player in this draft by taking former Miami tight end Brevin Jordan.

The fifth-round pick is Houston's first of Day 3. On Friday, the Texans selected quarterback Davis Mills in the third round and traded up for wide receiver Nico Collins later in the third.

Jordan is 6'3", 247 pounds and caught 38 passes for 576 yards and seven touchdowns last season with the Hurricanes. He was the best available player today, according to Texans analyst John Harris.

"This is a wildly talented guy," Harris said on Texans Draft Live. "He's a whale of an athlete. I can see the Texans using him in the passing game, from an alignment standpoint. He's more than a tight end.”
