The Washington Wizards are going to have to trade Bradley Beal this offseason. The big questions remaining: Where does he go and what comes back and when it all goes down?

Kevin Sheehan and Denton Day discuss the last part of those big questions. How does the timing of the deal impact what the Wizards might get in return for the former three-time NBA All-Star guard with a no-trade clause and four years, $200 million left on his contract?

Day believes that unless Washington can get the No. 3 overall pick in a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers (or other really good picks this year), there is no reason to trade Beal until the trade deadline in the middle of the season. Believing that there will be a team that will be more desperate for Beal and the value for the Wizards' player will be higher than right now when Beal's value might be at its lowest.

The problem with that is the risk, Sheehan pointed out, "What happens if he gets hurt again... or had suffered through the first 40 games with injuries?" Beal has struggled with injuries and has not been healthy for a full season since before the pandemic.

Denton believes the longer Washinton waits the more desperate a team will get to land Beal, pointing to the return Brooklyn got (for a vastly superior player) for Kevin Durant when Phoneix included assets that were off the table in the previous offseason.
