LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields was a full participant in practice Wednesday while dealing with a right thumb injury. Veteran starter Andy Dalton was limited in his work as he deals with a bone bruise in his left knee.
The Bears' starting quarterback for their game against the Lions on Sunday will be determined first by health, coach Matt Nagy said. Dalton remains first on the depth chart and will start if medically cleared. Fields would start his second consecutive game if Dalton is unable to play. Fields wore a brace on his right hand at practice Wednesday.

Fields, 22, struggled in his first NFL start Sunday, when the Bears had just 47 net yards of total offense in a 26-6 loss to the Browns. Fields was 6-of-20 for 68 yards and was sacked nine times while Chicago managed just one net passing yard.
The Bears also listed pass rusher Khalil Mack (foot) and safety Tashaun Gipson (hamstring) as not practicing Wednesday. Nose tackle Eddie Goldman (knee) was limited. Goldman has missed the team's first three games.
Kickoff between the Bears (1-2) and Lions (0-3) comes Sunday at noon CT from Soldier Field.
