NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A homeless man has been arrested for beating a subway rider with an expandable baton in an unprovoked attack at Grand Central last week.

Frankelly Grullon, 37, approached the 63-year-old victim in the mezzanine area of the Grand Central subway station around 1 a.m. Wednesday and started an argument with the victim, who tried to get away from him, police said.

As the victim was heading to a staircase to leave the station, Grullon allegedly took out an expandable baton and beat him in the head with it.

The victim was transported to NYU Langone Medical Center in stable condition.

Grullon was arrested on Friday and charged with assault, police said.
