NFL Network reports that Watson will receive a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract, shattering the league record for guaranteed cash by nearly $80 million, as part of the agreement.

The Browns and Texans must finalize details of the trade, which is expected to include, at least, three first-round draft picks and more.

It was Thursday morning when Watson originally informed the Browns they were no longer in consideration after the two sides met Tuesday in Houston.

The New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers also bid for Watson, who is still facing accusations of sexual misconduct involving 22 women during therapeutic massage treatments in civil court. Last Friday, a grand jury elected not to indict Watson following eight criminal complaints made against him.

Watson still faces potential discipline from the NFL for possible violations of the league's conduct policy. The 26-year-old did not play last season because of his trade request, in addition to the sexual assault and harassment allegations.

Although Watson evaded criminal prosecution, he may not escape discipline from the NFL office, but a potential suspension and the negative reaction – especially from women and victims of sexual assault, are risks the Browns clearly are willing to take.

The Texans selected Watson as the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft following a trade with the Browns for the pick.

On the field, Watson has completed over 67.8% of his passes and thrown for 14,539 yards with 104 touchdowns and just 36 interceptions in 54 games. He has also rushed for 1,677 yards and 17 touchdowns, while holding a 28-25-0 record as a starter.

In 2020, Watson led the NFL with 4,823 passing yards.
