Rasmus Dahlin named NHL's 'Second Star' of the Week

The Sabres captain had seven points in three games for the Sabres

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - With seven assists in three games, Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been named the NHL’s "Second Star" of the Week.

On Dec. 23 against the New York Islanders, the Sabres captain tied a team record for defensemen, picking up four assists. One period later against the Chicago Blackhawks, Dahlin had two more assists.

Dahlin is fifth amongst NHL defensemen that qualify with 0.90 points per-game. This season, he’s played 29 games and has six goals and 20 assists for 26 points.

The "First Star" of the Week was Mark Scheifele of the Winnipeg Jets, who had four goals and two assists for six points in two games.

The "Third Star" of the Week was Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski, who also had no goals and seven assists in three games.
