MONROE COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) -- Two men are behind bars after allegedly carjacking and kidnapping a Flat Rock man in Monroe County over the weekend.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Jeremy Shane Lambert and 43-year-old Gerald Lewis Cuykendall are facing a slew of charges after allegedly meeting up with the 35-year-old victim at a TA Travel Center on Friday, only to hold him at gunpoint and steal his car.

It all unfolded Friday evening when the victim, whose name has not been released, met with Lambert and Cuykendall at the travel center. Police said Saturday after Lambert’s arrest that he and the victim were “acquaintances.”
After the victim picked them up, he drove them to various locations throughout the county, according to the sheriff’s office. Police did not say where the men were going.
At some point, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and robbed the victim. He allegedly fired the gun once and ordered the victim back into his own vehicle. The suspects then proceeded to drive the victim around the county, before dropping him off behind Heck Park in Frenchtown Township, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies were called out to the travel center around 7:15 p.m. after the victim flagged down a passerby and called police.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries he sustained during the incident.
Within a matter of hours, deputies located Lambert and the stolen vehicle in the 6600 block of Lewis Avenue in Bedford Township. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Monroe County Jail.
The weapon used in the incident was recovered by police.
Cuykendall was arrested Monday and lodged at the jail as well.
Lambert was arraigned Monday and bond was set at $250,000. If he is released on bond, Lambert will be required to wear a GPS tether.

Cuykendall, meanwhile, was arraigned Tuesday on one count of armed robbery, one count of carjacking, one count of unlawful imprisonment, one count of felonious assault, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and four counts of felony firearm.
His bond was set at $300,000 and he would also be required to wear a tether if he is released on bond.

Detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the case and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 734-240-7530.
