DETROIT (WWJ) -- It was a chaotic scene Friday afternoon in Downtown Detroit, where there was series of explosions in a building near Detroit Police Headquarters.
The incident happened at the DTE Energy substation on Howard, near Third Street and Lafayette.
According to a witness speaking to WWJ Newsradio 950, a loud explosion was heard just after 1:30 p.m.
WWJ has since learned that there were at least two explosions, which led to a fire on the third floor.
Detroit Fire Chief James Harris confirmed there were no injuries, but said they're working to figure out what caused the explosions.
The scene was nearly clear by around 3:3- p.m., although people in the area should expect road closures along Abbott Street and West Lafayette to continuer for some time.
