DETROIT (WWJ) -- A man who pointed a gun at several drivers on the Southfield Freeway is behind bars after being caught by an off-duty cop.
An off-duty Detroit police officer was driving into work on Monday morning when he broadcasted to MSP that he was following a red Durango on southbound M-39.
The driver of the Durango was pointing a pink AR pistol out of his window at the officer.
The officer was able to guide troopers to the area of southbound M-39 and Ford Road, where a felony traffic stop was conducted at approximately 7:30 a.m.
The suspect was ordered from the vehicle and placed into custody without incident.
The pink AR pistol was recovered sitting on the floor of the rear seat. They later found out the suspect’s concealed pistol license expired in 2016.
State Police say the suspect pointed the gun at several drivers during separate road rage incidents. Troopers are currently trying to reach several potential victims.
The suspect is currently being held at the post pending charges.
