Two bodies were found after firefighters responded to reports that a building was on fire at the 14600 block of Young around 8:30 p.m., reported The Detroit News.

Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell said fire crews arrived on scene to find a car ablaze behind a one-story home. Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered the charred remains of two victims inside the vehicle.

An autopsy with identification is expected to proceed. Authorities did not release any other information and the Detroit Police Department Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation.
